A Company in Crisis

Enter Luca Cordero di Montezemolo

Restructuring and Revitalization
Montezemolo's first task was to restructure the company's management. He brought in a new team of experienced executives and engineers, including the legendary designer, Sergio Pininfarina. Together, they developed a new product strategy, which focused on creating high-performance, stylish, and exclusive cars that would appeal to a new generation of Ferrari enthusiasts. Montezemolo also invested heavily in the company's racing team, hiring top talent, including the famous Formula 1 driver, Michael Schumacher.
Return to Glory
Under Montezemolo's leadership, Ferrari began to experience a remarkable turnaround. The company's road car sales increased, and its racing team started to win again. In 2000, Ferrari won its first Formula 1 championship in over 20 years, with Michael Schumacher at the wheel. The company's success on the racing circuit was matched by its success in the marketplace, with the introduction of iconic models, such as the 360 Modena and the Enzo Ferrari.
